ING DIRECT Australia wins Club Red Corporate Challenge
2 Apr 2012For better communitiesING DIRECT Australia has come first for the third year in a row in the Club Red Corporate Challenge run by the Australian Red Cross. ING DIRECT’s 150 blood donations are important, as currently 1 in 3 Australians need blood, yet only 1 in 30 donates. Modern processing techniques mean that a single blood donation, when separated into its components, can help 3 different patients.
Club Red provides an opportunity for organisations and groups across Australia to get together and do something special by regularly donating blood. The Challenge, which extended to companies in the Sydney area, measures the number of donations from individuals in a company throughout the year. With 150 donations, ING DIRECT was an incredible 49 donations ahead of their nearest challenger!
Since joining Club Red 4.5 years ago, ING DIRECT staff have made over 1000 donations, saving thousands of lives through the donation of blood and plasma at regular intervals throughout the year. They will be defending their title with the next round of donations!
